Why martech and sales tech is a hard category for AI answers

Martech is a crowded software category. Scott Brinker's 2025 chiefmartec count put it at 15,384 solutions in 49 categories, up 9% from 14,106 the year before. Ask an AI engine for "the best attribution tool" or "the best sales engagement platform" and it will name three to five vendors out of hundreds. The rest do not exist in that answer.

SEO tools are martech too, and the same count found SEO was the fastest-growing subcategory: 24% growth, from 212 to 262 products. Your buyers are marketers. They know what a content play looks like. A thin "what is lead scoring" article will not get you shortlisted by a VP of marketing who has written ten of them.

And the shortlist is moving into chat. G2 surveyed 1,076 B2B decision makers in March 2026 and found that 51% now begin software research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, up from 29% in April 2025. In the same survey, 69% chose a different vendor than they first planned because of what the chatbot told them.

A later G2 release adds the detail that matters for martech and sales tech. 82% of buyers sourced software recommendations from an AI chatbot in the last 24 months, and half of those said AI had its greatest impact when narrowing and comparing options. Review sites (38%) edged past AI chatbots (37%) as the top source shaping the shortlist, for the first time.

You need pages that win the comparison moment, in Google and inside the AI answer, plus a presence on the review sites and lists the engines read. That is why most of the agencies below sell SEO and AEO as one piece of work.

How we picked the agencies

We started from two lists: the agencies that rank in Google for "martech seo agency" and the agencies that AI engines name when a buyer asks for help getting cited in AI answers. Then we read each agency's own site. An agency made the list when it passed these checks:

  1. A martech or sales tech page on its own site, or a named martech or sales tech client in its own case studies.
  2. Each named client confirmed as martech or sales tech, either in the agency's words or on the client's own homepage.
  3. An AI search, AEO or GEO offer stated on its own site, in its own words.
  4. Any price quoted exactly as the agency publishes it, with its conditions.
  5. All evidence read on 25 September 2026.

We gave no credit for directory ratings, awards or headcount. None of them tells you whether ChatGPT will quote your comparison page next quarter.

The 11 best SEO, AEO and GEO agencies for martech and sales tech SaaS

1. LoudFace

In its own words: "LoudFace is a full-stack organic growth agency for B2B SaaS and fintech, with AI visibility measured per engine." One team runs both the website and the search work. On the pricing page, the Growth track covers "SEO, AEO (AI search optimization), content systems, and distribution experiments."

Martech and sales tech proof: LoudFace has built brands and websites for two tools that sell to sales and marketing teams. Icypeas is a B2B lead enrichment platform that finds and verifies email addresses at scale, and SMB sales teams make up the bulk of its user base. LoudFace rebranded Icypeas and rebuilt its website from scratch in Webflow, over 8 to 12 weeks from brand strategy to launch. Sendswift helps sales and marketing teams manage email operations across multiple domains and sequences. LoudFace built its brand identity and website from scratch.

AI search proof: LoudFace's published AEO results include its own site and Toku, a payroll client. On its own site, AI visibility on non-branded buyer prompts went from 0.13% in April 2026 to 12.3% in August, when ChatGPT named LoudFace in 17.1% of its answers, Perplexity in 12.4% and Google AI Overviews in 7.1% (the LoudFace AEO case study). Over 18 to 28 September 2026 it read 21.5%, 3rd of the 53 brands tracked, on the 141 non-branded prompts tracked after a 17 September prompt cut that lifts the reading, so it does not compare directly with the monthly figures. The split is reported per engine: over 18 to 28 September, ChatGPT named LoudFace in 38.8% of its answers, Google AI Overviews in 14.3% and Perplexity in 11.2%. Sales calls booked through the site in August were 1.8× the May to July monthly average, and September, to the 22nd, is running below August's pace. For Toku, LoudFace took AI visibility from 0 to 97.8% on the category's top stablecoin payroll prompt (Aug 2026), as its growth partner for 18 months.

Price: engagements start from $5k / mo. Kickoff happens within 48 hours of signature, with the first fixes and calibration articles shipping in the same week. The full service is on the GEO agency page.

Best for: martech and sales tech SaaS teams that want the website and AI search run by one team, with visibility reported per engine rather than as one blended number.

Not the best fit if: you want to buy SEO, content and the website from three separate vendors.

2. Breaking B2B

Breaking B2B ranked first in Google for "martech seo agency" on 25 September 2026. Its martech page opens with a clear line: "Martech SEO that drives pipeline, not vanity metrics." It names the sub-categories it works with: "We work with CDPs, attribution platforms, analytics tools, MarOps platforms, and broader martech SaaS." Its AI search offer sits in the same pitch: "Senior-led SEO, GEO and AEO for B2B and SaaS teams."

The positioning is bottom-of-funnel. In its words, martech buyers "need a clear answer when they compare you against three other vendors on a Notion doc." Reporting ties output to "signups, demos, MQLs, SQLs, and closed-won wherever attribution can see it."

Its martech and sales tech case studies include RB2B and Proposify. RB2B, which Breaking B2B describes as "a category-defining identity-resolution platform", went from a zero-SEO baseline to "+77% non-branded organic traffic in the first six months". Proposify, proposal software, "built AI search into a measurable acquisition channel" and reports #1 for its primary head term, "proposal software" in the US, with clicks from competitive comparison pages up 68%.

Price: the martech page states "Plans start at $4k + /mo". The pricing page lists Growth Programmes at Silver $5,500 / month, Gold $7,500 / month, Diamond $9,700 / month and Category King $20,000+ / month, with tailored plans from $4,000/month.

Best for: martech and sales tech teams that want comparison and alternative pages first, reported on pipeline.

Not the best fit if: your first priority is a top-of-funnel education library. Breaking B2B's own martech page argues for decision-stage pages first.

3. SimpleTiger

SimpleTiger runs two vertical pages that matter here: a martech page ("We're a martech marketing agency that has grown firms of all sizes.") and a separate sales and CRM SaaS page. Its AEO service says the approach "delivers measurable outcomes by combining AI visibility expertise with proven search fundamentals."

Martech proof: two well-known names. Segment is described as a customer data infrastructure that collects and routes customer data to hundreds of marketing, analytics, sales and data warehousing tools. Invoca is "an AI-powered conversation analytics platform", and the engagement covered technical optimization, content, AI-search optimization (GEO), competitive analysis and reporting. SimpleTiger ran GEO in parallel with SEO, optimizing Invoca's content for ChatGPT and Perplexity. The martech page reports that "Invoca achieved a 41:1 ROI over the first 10 months".

Best for: martech SaaS that want SEO and GEO run as one programme, by a team with Segment and Invoca on its record.

Not the best fit if: you want AI search worked apart from your SEO. SimpleTiger's own AEO page pitches AI visibility combined with proven search fundamentals.

4. Omniscient Digital

Omniscient Digital sells generative engine optimization with a clear promise: "Increase your brand's visibility in AI search and become the trusted source LLMs cite." It defines GEO as work that "complements SEO by helping websites get cited by LLMs and become recognized as a trusted source of information."

Martech proof: two case studies with hard numbers. Convert is a software platform for A/B testing, experimentation and conversion rate optimization. Its headline reads "Convert Grows LLM Visibility 81% and AI Citations 140% in 60 days". Jasper, whose homepage pitches AI agents for marketing, is the older content story: "How Jasper Grew Blog Organic Sessions 810% and Signups 400X".

Best for: martech brands that want an ongoing content programme with GEO built in.

Not the best fit if: you want a short, fixed-scope sprint rather than an ongoing programme. Omniscient's martech case studies are programmes measured in blog sessions, signups and LLM visibility.

5. Omnius

Omnius has a dedicated martech SEO page and states its base: "MarTech SEO agency for sustainable pipeline growth Based in Europe". It is selective about who it works with: "We partner up only with companies from SaaS & Fintech verticals." Its method runs the funnel in reverse, "prioritizing BOFU over TOFU-focused webpages to maximize the generation of SQLs in the short term."

On AI search, Omnius optimizes content "for AI Overviews, Featured Snippets, and LLM-driven answers" across ChatGPT and Perplexity.

Martech and sales tech proof: the martech page lists AuthoredUp, which describes itself as an all-in-one LinkedIn content creation tool, and Crustdata, a "US-based B2B data infrastructure company" that "Powers 200+ platforms across sales, recruiting, and investing".

Best for: martech and fintech SaaS that want BOFU-first SEO with AI search in the same workflow, from a Europe-based team.

Not the best fit if: you sell outside SaaS and fintech. Omnius says it partners "only with companies from SaaS & Fintech verticals."

6. Siege Media

Siege Media leads with AI search on its homepage: "We're a GEO agency built for the new search." Its GEO service explains the method in one sentence: "LLMs don't invent answers, they quote sources. We turn your brand into one worth quoting, then make sure the right publishers, communities, and platforms are quoting it too."

Its martech and sales tech case studies include two big names. HubSpot, the CRM platform, with the headline "How Siege Media achieved 504 Page One ranking keywords for HubSpot in 1 year". And Mailshake, email outreach and sales engagement software, where Siege Media helped "add 500,000+ organic visits".

Best for: larger martech brands that want content at volume, plus the publisher and community mentions AI answers quote.

Not the best fit if: you want a narrow page sprint. Siege Media's martech proof is programme-scale: 504 page-one keywords for HubSpot in 1 year and 500,000+ organic visits for Mailshake.

7. Directive

Directive sells LLM optimization, and its success stories page carries an AI search case study, "How Case Status Turned AI Search Into a 20% Lift in Bookings", and a client quote from Kylie Fahey of Case Status, who says: "After seeing inbound leads directly cite ChatGPT or Perplexity, we invested in LLM optimization with Directive."

Two of its sales tech case studies each focus on a specific channel. Directive describes Xactly as enterprise-class, cloud-based software for employee engagement and sales performance management, and that work was directory optimization on Capterra, for leads and organic visibility. Winmo, sales prospecting software for selling to advertisers and agencies, was a paid search engagement.

Best for: enterprise sales tech teams that want LLM optimization alongside paid search and directory channels.

Not the best fit if: you want an organic-only specialist. Directive's sales tech case studies cover directory optimization and paid search.

8. DerivateX

DerivateX has a martech industry page that lists the sub-categories it covers, from marketing automation, email and CRM to ABM, intent data, CDP and GEO/AI search tools. Its headline names a size band: "The SEO and GEO agency for MarTech SaaS between $5M and $50M ARR."

It names its method "Citation Engineering", which structures content, entity data and third-party brand signals so LLMs can cite a company. It also reports a result on itself: "Ranked #1 in ChatGPT for "best martech SEO agency" within 20 days of launch."

Price: the pricing page lists retainers at $5,000 /mo, $8,000 /mo and $12,000 /mo, "Plus a one-time $3,500 diagnostic if you are not ready for a retainer." The off-site citation budget sits outside the retainer and rises by tier: $1,000 to $1,200 a month at $5,000, $1,500 to $2,000 at $8,000, and $2,000 to $3,000 at $12,000. The $5,000 and $8,000 tiers run as a 90-day pilot; the $12,000 tier carries a 6-month minimum.

Best for: martech SaaS between $5M and $50M ARR that want a named citation method and published retainers.

Not the best fit if: your ARR sits outside the band its martech page names.

9. MADX Digital

MADX's martech SEO page frames the buyer well: "MarTech buyers evaluate your SEO before they evaluate your product." It describes a martech SEO agency as one that "specialises in building organic search programmes for marketing technology companies." On AI search: "We boost visibility in AI search using advanced GEO strategies."

Martech proof: Postalytics, automated direct mail software integrated with HubSpot and Salesforce. The case study headline: "How Postalytics Scaled to 75,000 Monthly Visitors with a Targeted SEO Content Strategy".

Price: the pricing page, on its default 12-month term, lists Authority at $3,500 /mo, Growth at $5,500 /mo and Scale at $9,500 /mo. The page notes the 12-month term saves 30% against rolling monthly.

Best for: martech SaaS that want a published, tiered SEO and GEO price and are ready to commit to a 12-month term.

Not the best fit if: you want these listed prices without a 12-month commitment. They are the 12-month-term figures, which MADX says save 30% against rolling monthly.

10. Obility

Obility runs a combined martech and salestech industry page: "From marketing platforms to sales technology, we partner with revenue teams to drive adoption, engage cross-functional buyers, and build predictable, scalable pipelines."

Its GEO service covers a wide set of surfaces: "LLMs like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, and Reddit." Obility also takes a plain view on vocabulary: "Call it what you like: Generative engine optimization (GEO), answer engine optimization (AEO), LLMO or AI SEO - the facts remain the same." On the martech and sales tech prompt we track, Obility is the agency Google AI Overviews names most often.

Best for: martech and sales tech revenue teams that want GEO across LLMs, AI Overviews and Reddit from one B2B team.

Not the best fit if: you sell to a single buyer with a short cycle. Obility's martech page is built around revenue teams, cross-functional buyers and predictable pipelines.

11. Veza Digital

Veza Digital has two industry pages here, one for martech and one for sales tech. The sales tech page leads with the website: "We combine web design and development with a deep understanding of the Sales Tech industry to craft websites that attract high-value leads, convert visitors into paying customers, and fuel your growth." The martech page adds search: "Our MarTech SEO expertise ensures your website is ready to hit high ranks, attract leads, and drive organic traffic." Its homepage pitch for AI search: "Get cited by AI, and automate your growth marketing with agents."

ChatGPT names Veza Digital often on the martech and sales tech prompt we track, second only to Breaking B2B in our window.

Best for: martech and sales tech companies whose first project is the website itself, with SEO built into the rebuild.

Not the best fit if: your website is already where you want it. Veza's sales tech page leads with web design and development.

Which agencies AI engines name on this question today

We track this buyer prompt in Peec: "Agencies that help martech and sales tech companies get cited in AI answers". Here is who each engine named most over the 30 days from 26 August to 25 September 2026, in LoudFace's own Peec tracking. The engines disagree, so we report them one at a time.

  • ChatGPT: Breaking B2B leads, named in 80.8% of answers (21 of 26). Veza Digital follows at 53.8%. LoudFace and DerivateX are each named in 42.3% (11 of 26).
  • Perplexity: Directive leads at 26.9% (7 of 26), followed by Omniscient Digital, Siege Media and DerivateX at 11.5% each.
  • Google AI Overviews: Obility leads at 41.7% (10 of 24), then Omniscient Digital at 37.5% and iPullRank at 33.3%. Siege Media is named in 25.0%.

Three engines, three different leaders. An agency's AI visibility claim means little until you know which engine, which prompt and which window it covers. The same test applies to any agency you are vetting, and our guide on how to verify an AEO agency's results walks through it.

AEO, GEO or AI search optimization: the same work under three names

You will see all three labels on the sites above. They describe one practice: making your pages the source an AI engine reads and names when a buyer asks a question. Obility says so directly (quoted above). Omniscient Digital writes that GEO is also known as answer engine optimization, LLM optimization or AI search optimization. LoudFace uses AEO and glosses it as "AI search optimization" on its pricing page.

So judge the work, not the label. What matters is which engines the agency reports on, how it measures visibility, and whether it can show a live answer that names a client. For a longer take on where the terms overlap, read AEO vs GEO vs SEO.

How to choose a martech SEO and AEO agency

Put the same questions to every finalist. The answers will sort the list for you.

  1. Which martech or sales tech clients can you name, and what does each one sell? A strong answer names the client and its category in one sentence, the way RB2B or Segment are described above.
  2. Which engines do you report on, one at a time? Ask for ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews as separate lines. A single blended number hides the engine you are losing.
  3. What do you ship first: comparison pages or education content? For most martech and sales tech SaaS, the comparison moment is where the shortlist gets made.
  4. Can you show a live AI answer that names one of your clients? Ask for the prompt, the engine and the date.
  5. What ships in the first week? Get it in writing, with names and dates.
  6. Is the price for a 12-month term or month to month? Check the term behind every published number.
  7. How do you report on pipeline? Signups, demos and closed-won beat traffic charts for a revenue-accountable CMO.
  8. Who runs the account day to day? Ask to meet that person before you sign.

For a longer list, see our 14 questions to ask an AI search agency before you sign.

What to do next

Pick two or three agencies whose own proof sits closest to your product: CDP, attribution, sales engagement or email. Send each the same brief and the same eight questions. Then ask each to show you, live, an AI answer naming a client on a prompt your buyer would type.

If you want site, content and AI search run as one programme, with visibility reported per engine, start with how LoudFace runs GEO and AEO, our SEO for SaaS page and the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions.

Answers to the questions readers ask most about this topic.

How much does a martech SEO and AEO agency cost in 2026?
Published prices read on 25 September 2026 start at $3,500 /mo at MADX Digital on a 12-month term. Breaking B2B plans start at $4k /mo, with its top Growth Programmes tier at $20,000+ / month. DerivateX lists retainers of $5,000, $8,000 and $12,000 per month, plus an off-site citation budget of $1,000 to $3,000 a month depending on tier, and offers a one-time $3,500 diagnostic if you are not ready for a retainer. LoudFace engagements start from $5k / mo. Always check the term and scope behind a published number.
What makes SEO for martech and sales tech SaaS different?
Crowding and comparison. The 2025 chiefmartec count put martech at 15,384 solutions in 49 categories, so an AI answer names only a few vendors. Martech buyers also shortlist by comparing. Breaking B2B puts it plainly: buyers need a clear answer when they compare you against three other vendors. That pushes the work toward comparison and alternative pages, plus a presence on the review sites buyers read.
Which agencies do AI engines name for martech and sales tech?
It depends on the engine. In LoudFace's own Peec tracking of the prompt "Agencies that help martech and sales tech companies get cited in AI answers", from 26 August to 25 September 2026, ChatGPT named Breaking B2B most (80.8% of answers). Perplexity named Directive most (26.9%). Google AI Overviews named Obility most (41.7%). ChatGPT named LoudFace in 42.3% of its answers.
Are AEO, GEO and AI search optimization the same thing?
Yes, in practice. Obility writes that GEO, AEO, LLMO and AI SEO describe the same facts. Omniscient Digital writes that GEO is also known as answer engine optimization, LLM optimization or AI search optimization. LoudFace glosses AEO as "AI search optimization" on its pricing page. Judge an agency on which engines it reports on and whether it can show a live answer naming a client.
How fast can an agency get a martech brand cited in AI answers?
Published results vary by engagement. Omniscient Digital reports that Convert grew LLM visibility 81% and AI citations 140% in 60 days. Breaking B2B reports +77% non-branded organic traffic for RB2B in the first six months. DerivateX reports ranking #1 in ChatGPT for "best martech SEO agency" within 20 days of launch. Ask any agency for the engine, prompt and window behind a claim.
Do B2B software buyers really shortlist vendors in AI chatbots?
Yes. G2 surveyed 1,076 B2B decision makers in March 2026. 51% now begin software research with an AI chatbot more often than with Google, up from 29% in April 2025, and 69% chose a different vendor than planned based on chatbot guidance. A later G2 release found review sites (38%) narrowly ahead of AI chatbots (37%) as the top source shaping a shortlist.
