The short answerIn 2026, B2B and SaaS specialist copywriters publish $997 to $5,000 for a landing page, $1,200 to $7,000 for a case study and $3,500 to $45,000 for website copy. For an hourly benchmark, the Editorial Freelancers Association's 2026 rate chart, built on 2025 rates, puts business and marketing work for hire at $65 to $75 an hour.

Every price above was read on 8 November 2026 on the provider's own page in a real browser, after following each site's pricing link, and none was shown crossed out. No figure from Upwork, ZipRecruiter or Glassdoor appears on this page: their pages showed a bot check or a block page to the browser read behind this table. SoloPricing is a pricing-advice site with no survey of its own, so it sits here as a secondary guide.
How do copywriters price their work?
Five models show up on providers' own pages, and where a seller sits on the market predicts which one it uses. Per-word pricing lives at the platform and generalist end. No individual B2B SaaS specialist read prices by the word or by the hour.
| Model | Who publishes it | Published examples | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per word | Platforms, generalists | Verblio $0.16 a word; WriterAccess $0.04 to $1.00+; Elna Cain 50 to 80 cents a word | Blog volume where the brief is simple |
| Hourly | Agencies, benchmarks | Ecrivio $30; Compose.ly contract writing from $50; EFA median $65 to $75 | Editing, workshops, small fixes |
| Fixed price per deliverable | Productised freelancers and agencies | Mighty Fine Copy $997 landing page; Uplift case studies from $750 | A known deliverable with a known scope |
| Project quote after scoping | Senior specialists | Spectrum Copywriting from $10,000; Deni Brown from $2,500 | Website copy and messaging |
| Monthly retainer | Agencies, some freelancers | Wordify $6,000 a month; Nathan Ojaokomo from $3,500 | Ongoing content or newsletters |
YunoJuno, a freelance talent network, says copywriters most commonly work on a day rate, and that "Project-based pricing is also common for website copy, campaign messaging, tone of voice development, or content packages." Hourly pricing, in its words, "may apply for consulting, editing, workshops, or smaller content projects."
If a writer quotes your website by the word, you are buying volume of text. Website copy is a positioning job, and the people who do it well quote the project. Business Casual Copywriting puts it plainly on its rates page: "You can count on me quoting you a project rate."
How much does website copy cost in 2026?
Published website copy prices run from $1,500 in a writers' fee guide to $45,000 from a SaaS specialist. Among the specialists alone, the range runs from a three-page package to a full researched site, and the price reflects what happens before the writing starts.
The fee guides. AWAI's undated fee guide for web copywriters, written for writers setting their fees, puts a five-to-six-page website at $1,500 to $3,500 and a homepage at $450 to $4,500. SoloPricing's guide, updated in March 2026, puts a five-to-seven-page site at $3,000 to $12,000 for US copywriters with three to five years of experience, and says senior copywriters add 40 to 80%.
The specialists, as published on their own pages:
- Mighty Fine Copy sells "Website in 2 Weeks" at $3,500, which its FAQ says covers copy for up to three pages, including discovery and wireframes, with two rounds of revisions.
- Spectrum Copywriting says multi-page website projects "start at $10k and typically range from $15k to $35k, depending on scope." The price includes website and product messaging strategy, conversion-critical pages and landing pages, and "Designer- and vibe-code-ready wireframes".
- Business Casual Copywriting (Joel, a SaaS and B2B conversion copywriter in Calgary whose page names HubSpot, Deputy and WP Engine as past clients) says a full 6 to 8 page marketing website typically costs $30,000 to $45,000. That covers customer research, data analysis, positioning and messaging strategy, writing, wireframing and a pre-launch review. His rates page was last modified in April 2021 and is still live.
No content agency read publishes a website-copy price.
The gap between the three-page package and the bottom of Joel's range is mostly scope. The $3,500 offer covers three pages in two weeks, with discovery and wireframes. The $30,000 offer covers 6 to 8 pages and lists customer research, data analysis and a messaging strategy, and Joel says "I don't do design or builds," so the build is a separate budget. Price that build with our website redesign cost guide before you compare totals.
If your positioning is already settled and tested, a fixed package is a fair buy. If your homepage cannot say what you do better than the next tab in the buyer's browser, paying for three pages of polished words on top of a weak message wastes the money.
What do landing pages, case studies, white papers, blog posts and emails cost?
Landing pages. Ecrivio, a tech copywriting agency for B2B and SaaS, charges $150 for up to 1,400 words. Mighty Fine Copy sells "Landing Page In A Day" for $997, and Spectrum Copywriting charges $997 to optimise an existing landing page's copy in 48 hours. Deni Brown, a B2B copywriter for SaaS, FinTech and industrial companies, publishes $3,000 to $5,000. The price gap says less about research than it seems. Ecrivio lists "Research + competitive analysis" in its $150 tier, and Mighty Fine Copy says its $997 page is "written and backed by real research." Ask each writer what that research is before you compare the numbers.
Case studies. Six of the providers read publish a case-study price, from Ecrivio's $150 to Deni Brown's $7,000. The other five:
- Uplift Content from $750, including a recorded interview with your customer and two rounds of revisions.
- Mighty Fine Copy $1,200 per case study, or $2,000 a month for two.
- Kara at B2B Case Study Writer $1,700 written, $2,500 with a design template, plus a one-time $500 discovery fee. Her pricing page was last modified in February 2024.
- Best Case Studio sells the Proof Kit at $2,500, covering a video case study, a written one, testimonials and a social pack, delivered 14 days from the interview.
- Deni Brown $4,000 to $7,000 for case studies and white papers.
White papers. Thin data. Uplift Content starts at $2,000 for 3,000 words, and Deni Brown publishes $4,000 to $7,000. SoloPricing's secondary guide puts B2B SaaS white papers at $4,000 to $10,000.
Blog posts and articles. Blog posts are content writing more than copywriting, though several of these providers sell both. Verblio's self-serve platform charges $0.16 a word for human writing. Uplift Content's 800-word posts start at $400, with an expert B2B SaaS writer, a project manager and an editor in the price, and Uplift often adds a one-time onboarding fee of $150 to $300. Nathan Ojaokomo, a B2B SaaS content writer, starts at $700 an article as of September 2026. An expert-led article is $700 when you provide the interview transcript, or $850 when he finds the expert, prepares the questions and runs the interview. His price includes keyword research, a brief you approve, on-page SEO, two revision rounds and a 30-day performance check-in.
Email. AWAI's guide puts a standalone sales email at $250 to $2,000. Elna Cain, a generalist writer, lists $400 per email, which she says "equates to $2000 for five emails", in a paragraph that ends on her "new copywriting rates for 2024." Deni Brown publishes $2,500 to $4,000 for an email sequence, and Mighty Fine Copy sells a newsletter at $2,200 a month for four weekly issues.
Published copywriting prices by provider type

Its copywriting service is positioning-first: "Before we write a word, we understand your buyer and what your product actually does better." Benchmarks and surveys
- Editorial Freelancers Association 2026 rate chart. A member survey run from November 2025 to mid-January 2026, with over 1,100 respondents reporting 2025 rates. Business and marketing work for hire: $65.00 to $75.00 an hour, 32.0¢ to 87.5¢ a word. Ghostwriting in the same category: $87.50 to $125.00 an hour. The EFA is an editorial association, so read these as freelance editorial writers' rates.
- YunoJuno. Booking data from its global network: $67 an hour average and a £408 average day rate. It publishes no sample size.
- AWAI's fee guide for web copywriters. Undated, no method stated, written for writers.
- SoloPricing. A secondary guide, updated March 2026, which says US freelance copywriters charge $85 to $160 an hour at mid-level and puts B2B SaaS seniors at $200 to $350 an hour. It cites AWAI and Freelance Writers Den surveys from 2025.
Freelancer, agency or in-house: what does each cost?
The salaried benchmark comes from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, whose writers and authors occupation includes copywriters. The BLS median annual wage was $76,910 in May 2025, or $36.98 an hour. The lowest 10% earned less than $44,310 and the highest 10% more than $139,870. That data excludes self-employed workers, so it measures employees, and the hourly figure is a wage before employer costs. Never set it against a freelancer's billed rate as if the two were the same unit.
| Option | Published cost | What the price includes | What you still own |
|---|---|---|---|
| In-house writer | $76,910 median salary (BLS, May 2025) | A writer's time, every month | Management, editing, research, employer costs |
| Specialist freelancer | $3,500 to $45,000 per website; $997 to $5,000 per landing page | Research, messaging and copy, per the scope on their page | Design and build: "I don't do design or builds." |
| Content agency | From $700 a month (Compose.ly, AI-assisted) to $10,000 a month (Wordify) | Writers plus project management and editing | Positioning, unless it is in the scope |
| Platform | $0.04 to $1.00+ a word | Words to your brief | The brief, the editing and the strategy |
Agencies price in the work you would otherwise manage. Uplift lists a dedicated project manager and a professional editor inside its blog-post price, and Compose.ly's managed tier delivers content "while we manage everything for you." A solo specialist's price lists neither.
My call: a Series A to C team buying one website at Spectrum Copywriting's typical $15,000 to $35,000 is buying a project, not a headcount, and a salaried writer is a cost you keep carrying after the site ships. Hire in-house when you need volume every week for years. Buy the project when the job is a message.
Has AI changed copywriter rates?
The best evidence measures freelance jobs, contracts and earnings rather than copywriter rates, and it shows less writing work on freelance marketplaces after ChatGPT's release.
Hui, Reshef and Zhou studied Upwork data in a paper published in Organization Science. In August 2023, WashU Olin, the school of two of the three authors, reported on the working paper that after ChatGPT's release, monthly jobs for writing-related freelancers on Upwork fell by 2% and monthly earnings by 5.2%, and that more highly skilled workers saw a greater drop in new jobs and income. Writing at Brookings in July 2025, Hui and Reshef note that their data "covers only the first six to eight months" after the AI models were released, and suggest "clients may no longer perceive as much value in paying a premium for high-reputation workers".
Demirci, Hannane and Zhu, in a paper published in Management Science in 2025, found a 21% decrease in job posts for automation-prone writing and coding jobs, compared to jobs requiring manual-intensive skills, within eight months of ChatGPT, and that "the remaining automation-prone jobs are of greater complexity and offer higher pay."
Both studies cover freelance marketplace work in the first months after ChatGPT. Neither measures copywriter rates, and neither measures specialist B2B SaaS conversion copy. My reading, which neither study tests: once AI can draft the words, the part of a quote worth paying for is the decision about what to say. Verblio already sells hybrid AI-assisted content at $0.06 a word beside fully human writing at $0.16. Spectrum Copywriting's website projects typically run $15,000 to $35,000, and the first thing its page lists in them is messaging strategy.
What moves a copywriting quote up or down?
The providers name the drivers on their own pages, and they agree more than they differ.
- The deliverable list. Deni Brown says four things "decide where your project falls in the range": deliverables, research depth, complexity and timeline.
- Research depth. "Technical, regulated, or data-heavy topics take more research to get right," in Deni Brown's words. Uplift names "Topic complexity, amount of research, interviews with a subject matter expert, and level of desired service."
- Interviews and original data. Nathan Ojaokomo prices articles on "Length, research depth, and whether the piece needs product testing, interviews, or original data." His $700 and $850 tiers for expert-led articles differ by who finds the expert, prepares the questions and runs the interview.
- Product and buyer complexity. "More buyer roles, more products, or more markets mean more messaging work," says Deni Brown.
- Timeline. "Tighter deadlines can change the quote," says Deni Brown.
- Specialisation. YunoJuno lists SaaS and regulated-industry expertise among the factors that raise rates, and "Generalist-only writing capability without strategic or campaign expertise" among those that lower them.
- Design and wireframes. Kara's case study goes from $1,700 to $2,500 when design is included.
How should you brief a copywriter and read the quote?
Send the same brief to every provider, or you cannot compare the answers. Include:
- The exact deliverables and page count.
- What research already exists, such as customer interviews or call transcripts. The step from Ojaokomo's $700 tier to his $850 tier pays for him finding the expert, preparing the questions and running the interview.
- How many products, buyer roles and markets the copy must cover.
- Your deadline.
- Whether you need wireframes or design, or only words.
- How many revision rounds you expect. Uplift and Ojaokomo include two. Kara includes two from you and two from your customer. Mighty Fine Copy includes two on its website package and one on its landing page and case study.
Reading a low quote. Ask who interviews your customers and who decides the message. Check for fees outside the headline price: Uplift's onboarding fee ($150 to $300 on blog posts, $250 to $500 on case studies), Kara's $500 discovery fee, Verblio's $49.50 monthly platform fee on hybrid content after the first week. A $150 landing page is fine for a page whose message you have already proven.
Reading a high quote. Ask for the research plan in writing and whether you get the messaging strategy as a document you keep. At $30,000 to $45,000, Business Casual Copywriting lists customer research, data analysis and wireframing. A high quote without those lines is just expensive writing.
If the same team should own the message, the page and the search program around it, compare the specialist's project price with an agency engagement. Our breakdown of SEO and AEO retainers for B2B SaaS shows LoudFace's AEO retainers at $5K to $18K a month, and SEO consultant rates cover the advice-only alternative. Whoever you hire, pay for the decision about what to say first and the words second.
