What Powered by Search is and who it fits
Dev Basu founded Powered by Search, and his origin-story note says he left an agency in 2009 and never planned to start another. Its homepage headline calls it "The B2B Paid Ads and GEO Agency," and the same page says it has "helped 200+ B2B companies build high-quality pipeline, with no account managers between you and the senior people doing the work." The about page describes a remote-first team with consultants in 8+ countries.
The services page lists seven core services: demand generation strategy, SEO, paid media on Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads, content marketing, digital PR, account-based marketing and HubSpot RevOps. Everything is tied to its Predictable Growth Methodology and "measured by its contribution to qualified pipeline, not vanity metrics like traffic or form fills." The same page claims: "For every $1 invested in our consulting fees, we drive $5 of ARR on average."
Pricing. The pricing page opens on quarterly billing. Its SEO & LLM Ranking service has three tiers:
- Consulting, from $7,500 a month billed quarterly or $9,000 monthly: a senior SEO strategist, AI content optimization guidance and a monthly strategy call.
- Implementation, from $12,000 quarterly or $14,400 monthly: full content production, technical SEO, starter outreach, and briefs "enhanced to help you get mentioned in LLMs," with a strategist and two specialists.
- Promotion, from $18,000 quarterly or $21,600 monthly: "Advanced AEO strategy + AI-optimized PR campaigns for zero-click search wins" and a full embedded team of five to six senior staff.
Its GEO page frames the price differently: "from $9,000 a month," and "Most programs run $9,000 to $22,000 a month." If you want to test the relationship first, the pricing page offers a $2,500 Power Hour, a $14,900 Pipeline Audit and a $25,000 Execution Sprint. If you upgrade within 30 days of a Power Hour or a Pipeline Audit, the FAQ says it applies 100% of that fee to your first retainer invoice.
AI search. The GEO page targets "B2B marketing teams that sell into long, committee-driven sales cycles." Reporting covers "a fixed set of buyer prompts tracked in ChatGPT and Perplexity," with competitor mentions, cited pages, AI referral visits and pipeline. The same paragraph adds: "With access to your Bing Webmaster Tools, we add Microsoft's own citation data." It audits against its own RAISE framework (Relevance, Access, Information Density, Source Authority, Engagement Signals).
Proof. The GEO page says that for Cyera, "organic search produced $7.9M in qualified pipeline over 12 months." The homepage lists "$11.1M in SEO Pipeline for Data Privacy SaaS" and links a TouchBistro story about a 324% increase in demos in six months. On AI search, the GEO page says Microsoft Copilot and partner AI answers cited poweredbysearch.com 31,600 times between July 14 and October 13, 2026.
Who it fits, in its own words. The pricing FAQ says you fit if you are "a B2B company spending $15K+/month on growth," have a VP or Director of Marketing or RevOps in-house, and judge results on pipeline and ARR. It is not a fit for "a B2C or e-commerce brand." On minimums it says: "Below our minimums, we can't staff senior talent or generate statistically meaningful outcomes."
That is a coherent offer for a funded B2B tech company that wants paid ads, SEO and pipeline operations under one senior team. The reasons to look elsewhere are about fit.
Why teams look for an alternative
Read its own pages side by side and four questions come up. None of them is a fault. Each one decides whether the agency fits your stage and channel mix.
1. Is paid or organic your main channel? Powered by Search leads with paid ads and GEO in its headline and sells seven services that run from paid media to ABM and RevOps. If you want an organic-first team whose whole program is search and AI answers, the agencies below are built that way.
2. Does the entry price match your budget? The SEO floor is $7,500 a month on quarterly billing, and the stated fit is a company spending $15K+ a month on growth with a marketing or RevOps leader in-house. Many seed and early Series A teams sit below both lines. Note what that $15K figure is: total growth spend, which the pricing page uses as a fit test. It is not quoted as a retainer floor.
3. Which AI engines get reported? The GEO page names ChatGPT and Perplexity as the tracked engines, and adds Microsoft's citation data when you share Bing Webmaster Tools access. If your buyers see Google AI Overviews first, ask whether it is reported per prompt, because the reporting sentence on that page does not include it.
4. What kind of proof do you need? The named SEO proof on its pages is pipeline in dollars (Cyera's $7.9M, the $11.1M data privacy result), and its AI-search figure is for its own domain. That is the right proof for a CFO. A buyer who needs to see AI visibility for a named client, engine by engine, will want different evidence.
If none of those four applies to you, stay put. Switching agencies has a cost, and our guide to replacing your SEO agency without losing rankings or AI visibility covers it.
How we ranked them
Every agency was judged on three checks, applied in this order. You can run each one yourself from the agency's own site before a sales call.
- A named client result in AI search, on the agency's own pages. An AI visibility, citation or mention reading for a client you can look up, or a revenue or pipeline outcome the agency credits to AI search.
- A published price. A dollar figure or a stated formula on the agency's own site. A pricing link that returns a 404 or a priceless page counts as no public price.
- Organic-first focus. SEO and AI search as the core of the offer, against one division among paid media, commerce or communications.
Ties inside a check go to the agency whose AI-search result is a visibility, citation or mention reading for a named client, ahead of a revenue or pipeline result. Where that still leaves a tie, the order is my judgment of how much of each offer is SEO and AI search, and each entry shows the evidence.
Omniscient Digital, Grow and Convert and SimpleTiger pass the first two checks. Siege Media and Directive Consulting pass the first. iPullRank, Omnius and Kalungi publish results, but the client-named results on the pages read are not AI-search readings, and none of the three publishes a price.
1. LoudFace
Best for: Series A to C B2B SaaS and fintech teams that want SEO, AEO and GEO run as one program, with AI visibility reported per engine and tied to pipeline.
What it sells: its SEO and AEO service page describes LoudFace as "a full-stack organic growth agency for B2B SaaS and fintech, with AI visibility measured per engine." It runs SEO, AEO and GEO as one program so a client can rank on Google and get cited inside ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Buyer prompts run daily on all three, with visibility, share of answer and position reported weekly.
Starting price: engagements start from $5k a month, scoped on the intro call, across three Autopilot tiers. Every engagement runs through a retainer, and a fixed scope runs inside a retainer with a three-month minimum.
First month: kickoff within 48 hours of signature. Week one brings access, technical fixes, the per-engine baseline and the first articles, and you see shipped work inside five days.
AI search proof: Toku, a stablecoin payroll platform, reached 97.8% AI visibility on "best stablecoin payroll providers" in a 30-day Peec AI reading ending 19 August 2026, the highest of any brand on that prompt, at an average cited position of 3.1. LoudFace was Toku's growth partner for 18 months. TradeMomentum is tracked in Peec AI engine by engine: on its non-branded prompts, between May 2026 and 1 to 27 September 2026, ChatGPT went from naming it in 1.4% of answers to 6.5%, Perplexity from 3.0% to 12.9% and Google AI Overviews from 5.7% to 9.6%. Its weekly Google clicks grew 9.1x from the week the engagement began to the week of 21 September 2026.
On its own site, LoudFace's share of non-branded AI answers went from 0.13% in April 2026 to 21.5% over 18 to 28 September 2026: ChatGPT 38.8%, Google AI Overviews 14.3% and Perplexity 11.2%, measured after a 17 September prompt cut that lifts the reading. The full study is public.
Where it is not the best fit: a team that wants a short one-off project. The pricing page offers fixed-scope projects, and LoudFace delivers each one inside a retainer with a 3-month minimum.
2. Omniscient Digital
Best for: B2B brands with an annual budget that want one agency to run organic growth and answer engine optimization against pipeline.
What it sells: its homepage says "Omniscient is an organic growth agency that gets B2B brands recommended across AI and search engines." The services menu puts Answer Engine Optimization ("Get recommended by LLMs") beside SEO strategy, programmatic SEO, technical SEO, link building, digital PR, content production and CRO. Its process tracks "AI share of voice and citation share across key segments" in one dashboard. Co-founder Alex Birkett previously worked at Workato and HubSpot, and co-founder Allie Konchar at Shopify.
Starting price: "Full-service engagements start at $120,000/year," on its homepage. Its /pricing/ page shows no price.
AI search proof: "Convert grew LLM Visibility 81% and AI Citations 140% in 60 days." OnBoard is shown with an 88% AI visibility gain. Teambridge generated $400,000 of qualified pipeline through SEO.
Where it is not the best fit: a team that cannot commit $120,000 a year to full service.
More options in alternatives to Omniscient Digital.
3. Grow and Convert
Best for: SaaS teams that want content written to convert, on Google and in AI answers, at a published monthly price.
What it sells: its homepage title is "A Content-Focused SEO and GEO Agency," and its headline reads "Conversion-Focused Organic Growth for Google and AI Search." Services cover content, SEO and AI search, AI citation outreach and link building, technical SEO and paid search. Its own AI visibility tool, Traqer.ai, is "Included free for every client." Devesh Khanal and Benji Hyam founded the agency after meeting at a marketing dinner in San Francisco in 2015.
Starting price: "Starting at $10,000 per month," on its SEO and GEO service page and its B2B SaaS GEO page. Its /pricing/ URL returns a 404.
AI search proof: its B2B SaaS GEO page names Toro TMS: "inbound grew from 5% to over 25% of revenue in 18 months, and AI now mentions them across 75% of tracked topics."
Where it is not the best fit: a team with less than $10,000 a month for SEO and GEO, the starting price on its own service pages.
4. SimpleTiger
Best for: SaaS teams that want the budget set as a share of revenue or funding at their growth stage.
What it sells: its homepage headline reads "Your SaaS Pipeline Engine for the AI Search Era," and its Search Visibility (SEO + AEO) service promises buyers will find you "in Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude & Gemini," combining "traditional search engine optimization with AI search optimization (GEO + AEO)." It states a 4.9/5 rating from 30+ Clutch reviews and 15+ years in B2B SaaS marketing.
Starting price: a formula. Its pricing page says "each of our SEO packages starts at 5% of revenue or funding at the respective growth stage that the packages target," and puts the SaaS industry average SEO spend at 8% of revenue or funding.
AI search proof: its homepage says "We've driven $3M in revenue with a 41:1 ROI in less than 10 months through AI & organic search," and credits the figure to Invoca: "Invoca achieved a 41:1 ROI over the first 10 months."
Where it is not the best fit: a buyer who needs a dollar figure before the first call. The formula only turns into a number once you share revenue or funding.
More options in alternatives to SimpleTiger.
5. Siege Media
Best for: brands that want content and digital PR built to make them the answer in AI search, with large named clients as proof.
What it sells: "Full-service GEO. We make brands the answer in search." Services include GEO, consulting, affiliate, digital PR, content marketing and Reddit marketing. The homepage says its organic growth services "have generated over $148,646,000 in yearly client traffic value." Ross Hudgens is founder and CEO.
Starting price: no public price. Its /pricing URL returns a 404, and neither the homepage nor the SaaS GEO page lists one.
AI search proof: the homepage result cards show Zapier at a $6.1M increase in traffic value and 96% LLM visibility, Zendesk at 98% LLM visibility and Instacart at 46.5k citations in LLMs. Its featured case study is titled "How Siege Media helped Mentimeter generate 250,000 ChatGPT visits."
Where it is not the best fit: a team that needs a budget number before the first meeting.
More options in alternatives to Siege Media.
6. Directive Consulting
Best for: B2B teams that want AEO sitting next to paid performance, commerce and communications work at a large agency.
What it sells: Directive organizes its work into Performance, Commerce and Communications divisions and states 130+ marketing strategists and 700+ brands served. Its AEO line promises to "Ensure your brand is cited in AI-generated answers across Google AI Overviews, LLMs, voice search, and emerging answer engines," alongside separate GEO and LLM agency lines. Its DiscoverabilityOS framework "helps B2B brands win visibility where buyers research and shortlist solutions."
Starting price: no public retainer price. Its /pricing/ URL redirects to a $399 DIY course.
AI search proof: its success-stories page says an "early-mover AIO strategy drove a 135% QoQ increase in" book-a-demo conversions for Case Status, and that AxisCare reached "70% traffic growth, 200% demo growth, and net-new SQLs from AI-driven search."
Where it is not the best fit: a team that wants an organic-only specialist. Directive's AEO work sits inside a three-division agency, so it suits a buyer who wants paid and organic under one roof, much like Powered by Search.
More options in alternatives to Directive Consulting.
7. iPullRank
Best for: enterprise and mid-market brands where organic search already carries serious revenue.
What it sells: its homepage title is "Pioneering Enterprise and Mid-Market AI Search Agency." It runs "GEO programs across strategy, content, technical optimization, and measurement to improve your visibility in AI Search," built on its own Relevance Engineering and Resonance Design methods. Founder Mike King is described on its about page as Search Engine Land Marketer of the Year.
Starting price: not published. ipullrank.com/pricing returns a 404.
Proof: the homepage says it has delivered "$5B+ in organic search results" for clients. Its headline cases are unnamed: $2.4 billion in incremental revenue for a financial-services client, and $290M for a global eCommerce marketplace.
Where it is not the best fit: a Series A team that wants named SaaS proof. The headline results name no client, and the positioning targets enterprise and mid-market.
More options in alternatives to iPullRank.
8. Omnius
Best for: SaaS and fintech teams that want an SEO and AI search agency based in Europe.
What it sells: its homepage title is "B2B SEO & GEO Marketing Agency for SaaS & Fintech," and its headline reads "B2B SEO & AI Search marketing agency based in Europe." The AI Search Optimization service is described as "Optimizing B2B websites to end up in LLM answers," with separate GEO and AEO pages in the menu.
Starting price: none on its site. The homepage lists no price, and omnius.so/pricing is a 404.
Proof: its homepage case cards credit Myos, a revenue-based financing company, with +227.9% signups in 6 months. An AuthoredUp testimonial cites "64% higher conversion on a new website and 110% organic growth in 6 months."
Where it is not the best fit: a buyer who wants a named AI visibility result before signing. The homepage proof reports signups, conversion and organic growth.
9. Kalungi
Best for: SaaS companies that want an outsourced marketing team, with pay-per-performance on the table.
What it sells: Kalungi's Full-Service model is labelled "WE DO IT FOR YOU" and "Replaces 10+ hires. Pay-per-performance available." The homepage says 280+ SaaS companies trust Kalungi and pitches Full-Service as "BEST VALUE FOR $5-$10MM ARR SAAS," while the SEO and content page frames it as "BEST FOR: SCALE-UPS READY TO DOMINATE ($5M-$50M ARR)" and promises content that "secures citations in LLMs like ChatGPT and Perplexity."
Starting price: not listed. The homepage offers pay-per-performance but gives no figure, and kalungi.com/pricing returns a 404.
Proof: its homepage says "Kalungi took DataGuard from zero marketing to a full growth engine in under six months, driving 330% MQL growth, $4M in pipeline." CPGvision is credited with $4.7M in pipeline and 533% SEO growth.
Where it is not the best fit: a team that only wants SEO and AI search. Kalungi sells a whole marketing function, so the scope is wider than search.
How to choose your Powered by Search alternative
Start from the reason you are leaving, then match it to the list.
| If your reason is... | Look first at |
|---|---|
| You want organic and AI search as the whole program, reported per engine | LoudFace, Omniscient Digital, Grow and Convert |
| Your growth spend sits below the $15K+ a month fit line on the Powered by Search pricing page | LoudFace (from $5k a month), SimpleTiger (5% of revenue or funding) |
| You want content-led growth with a published monthly price | Grow and Convert ($10,000 a month) |
| You want paid and organic together, at a larger agency | Directive Consulting, or stay with Powered by Search |
| You are enterprise or mid-market with a large organic channel | iPullRank, Siege Media |
| You want part of the fee tied to results | Kalungi (pay-per-performance available on Full-Service) |
| You are a European SaaS or fintech company | Omnius |
Then put the same questions to every agency on your shortlist. Google's own guide to hiring an SEO is a good base. It tells you to ask "Can you show me examples of your previous work and share some success stories?", "How do you measure your success?" and "What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe?" It also warns that "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google," and the same holds for an AI citation.
For AI search, add three questions of my own:
- Which engines do you report, prompt by prompt? ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews each draw on different sources, so a single blended number hides the engine you are losing on. Ask for a sample report.
- Which named client moved in AI answers, on which prompt, over which window? A visibility figure without a prompt, a window and a tool is not proof.
- What ships in month one? Ask for the week-one deliverables in writing, then check them against the first invoice.
For the longer version, read 14 questions to ask an AI search agency before you sign, or compare a wider field in the best GEO, AEO and AI search optimization agencies and the best B2B SaaS SEO agencies.
Be wary of anyone selling a secret AI Overviews technique. Google's AI features documentation says "There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, nor other special optimizations necessary." The same page adds that meeting every requirement "doesn't mean that Google will crawl, index, or serve its content." An agency can earn you a better chance of being cited, and nobody can promise the citation.
